A whole lot of information to take in...Phew!!

I went to my two doctor appointments yesterday.  Debbie and the WLC had a lot to go over.  She talked about what will go on before, during, and after surgery.  Filled me in on the different kinds of vitamins, and other pills I will be taking afterwards.  She also let me know how the weight usually comes off, that it will stall, and that your body will stop losing when it wants too (whether it is at your goal or not).  Debbie says if you can maintain your "new" weight for 5 years, then you are doing everything right and won't gain back your weight.  She says most people tend to gain back their weight after 1 1/2 to 2 years.  Keep exercising and eating right, and you will be fine.  I got a little brown baggie of free samples.  This was nice to get, that way you won't have to worry how you will be getting everything when you can't get out the first couple of days.  Debbie also went over the 10 day diet with me.  I am supposed to start on the 9th and finish on the 20th.  If I am doing my math correct, this would be a 12 day diet, not a 10 day!!  Anyway, I have done them before and got through it.  On the 21st I have to do a bowel prep, which will be an all day thing.   I guess I better stock up on some magazines and air freshener for that day!  The night before and the morning of, you take a shower and scrub with a special soap.  Then it's off to the hospital.  Short stay is the first stop, where you get a number of IV's running (this will take a couple hours), then you go to surgery (1-3 hours), then recovery (a couple hours), then to your room.  At Dr. Monks visit, he was quick and asked if I had any questions.  I need to get some blood drawn on the 15th, and then he said I was all set.  This morning at work, I tried to organize and write down everything that we went through.  I think that I am ready and not so confused now!  I worry about Brittany while I am in the hospital.  She keeps telling me that she is a big girl and will be OK.  Plus, my brother and sister in law will be taking care of her.  They are the only ones that I can TOTALLY trust with her.  I know that she will be fine, but I'm her mother and I am allowed to worry...LOL!!!    I think that I filled you in on everything that went on.  If not I will post again later.  I will let you know how my diet goes in a few days!
