I just wanted to make a post about all the clothes I have.
My clothes range in size from 3X (26/28), which is what I wear right now, all the way down to ohhh, I'd say a size 14.
I have four storage bins just stuffed full of clothes that don't fit. Some articles I've never even tried on because there's no possible way they would fit me. I have the cutest rolled cuff rockabilly jeans in a size 20 that I bought last year because they were on mad sale. I haven't been a size 20 in probably fifteen years or more. Tags are still on 'em and everything.
All these years that I've been considering surgery, I've been buying clothes that don't fit in anticipation of being able to wear them someday. I have at least ten darling mod dresses from eBay - cute as hell - but I can't even get them over my hips, never mind zipped up! I'm sure they're all about a modern size 14 or 16. And let's not forget that adorable baby pink coat with the cute, huge buttons that's a vintage size 18. It's so small...I look at it and think: "That thing will never fit me!"
But, as my surgery looms closer and closer, I'm coming to realise that yes, I will fit into these clothes someday. And let me tell you, I'm hella stoked about it.

Ooookay. Now that the surgery is becoming more of a reality, I'll be posting to my blog on a regular basis. I still need to finish outlining everything that's happened up to this point - I'll get that done by next weekend. Onward and upward!
Step 2 and a half, haha

I'm going to the informational seminar at SacBariatric on December 11th. Hopefully I'll get more information to ensure I'm approved without hassle.
the 2nd step of my journey

The first step, of course, was switching insurance from worthless Kaiser to lovely Western Health Advantage.
Today I was able to phone Dr. Xue's office to make my 2-months-in-advance appointment. January 2, 2007 at 9:00 a.m.! I asked the receptionist what information I would need to bring to the appointment to help Dr. Xue with her referral - she said none, if I qualify I will get the referral to Dr. Machado that day! I know I am qualified since I had already called WHA many months prior to make sure I met all their guidelines. It seems so easy, almost too easy, and I'm a little frightened...Also, my mom is still bugging me about going to Dr. Rabkin, and getting a duodinal (sp?) switch instead of the Roux-n-Y with Dr. Machado. I'm going wherever the insurance company will pay for me to go, I wish she would understand that and leave me be.
I don't expect to update this blog again until January, this is really just a timeline for me to look back upon when everything is done and over with. If there's anyone else reading - hello, and I hope I hold your interest for a little while at least.
