North Colorado Medical Center (COE)

"I like how if you ask someone "where is the lab" they TAKE YOU THERE instead of .. go to the main elevators bla bla bla bla"

Michael W. Johnell M.D., F.A.C.S

"I had first thought I was going to get the RNY and met with a surgeon in my town. The program at this bariatric center was not very robust. Then after some research (mainly learning that after 3 years the weight loss is the same for the band and the RNY) I changed over to the Lap Band. This procedure has never been done by the surgeons in my city so I found Dr. Johnell. It is a 2 hour drive for me and even though I have not yet had my surgery, I am very impressed with the program they offer. Very robust - focused on psychological and physiological aspects of this procedure. Lots of support groups and a very large team of nutritional professionals and nurse coordinators. I will update more when I have my surgery. rnrnAs far as the doctor himself, he is exactly what you want in a surgeon. Very informative. He wasn't dismissive with any of my questions. There was nothing salesman-ish about my consultation. He was on the serious side... but I'm not really interested in being entertained so this was not a negative. "
