I haven't ALWAYS been overweight. I was an average size until puberty. I got a lil' chunky, but by high school...I worked off all that chubs and was beautiful and HAPPY!!!
I got pregnant with my first child at 17 and gained 90lbs. Which put me over 200lbs. I worked and played with my son. I was unahppy, and dealt with so much depression. Mainly because I was a single mom and the reason he left me was because I was fat. Straight from  his own mouth. You'd think that would give me the motivation to lose weight. But I couldn't do it for him. I needed to do it for myself. Over the years, I did work hard at losing weight. My lowest weight between 1999 and 2004 was 220lbs. I was happy at 220, but my heighest weight was 240. Then, I got pregnant again, gained another 40lbs :'( My son was born early due to complications. Which, brought on a lot of stress and pain. I'm pretty sure I didn't lose any of that pregnancy weight. Anyway...when he was home and healthy, I was happy again. With the help of my PCP and Adipex I lost 45lbs!!!! I was so happy... :-D So my weight was down to 240ish. BAM, pregnant again.....are you sensing a pattern here?!? Gained back the 45lbs I lost. HOWEVER, I walked everyday with this pregnancy. Even though I gained weight, I gained HEALTHY wieght. It was my healthiest pregnancy ever, and happiest. Well, as you guessed, I haven't lost much weight since then. That was 2006. So, here I am 2.5 years later and at my heaviest weight ever, pre-surgery 310lbs. :'-(
I have been working towards surgery since August of 2008. I went through a few surgeons before I found the one, Dr. Michael Wood. I have seen a close family memeber go through the same surgery with great results. I have researched and learned as much as I possibly could. After my consultation, I knew that I LOVED my Surgeon and felt so confident with my choices. Well, of course I had a lot of pre-op testing to be done. Not as much as some, but the Psych eval., endo-scope, support group....etc. As soon as every thing was done, I got approval for surgery in exaclty 2 weeks!!! As in, it only took 2 weeks to gain approval. And then they called to set the date....was set for 17 days after that day. OMG!!! What a wonderful feeling....

I'm 2wks post-op from my Lap. RNY. My surgeon WAS wonderful!!! I love the office and staff. I love the support, its such a great feeling.

I'm feeling NOT great, but better. I'm still pretty sore, but it gets better everyday. :-D

I will keep updating, every monday...next Monday will be 3wks out!!!
