Update!

Hey everyone!  I was so busy running around to doctors for tests and on the phone with the bariatric consultant about my Insurance approval.  The approval FINALLY went through the morning before my surgery.  SO!  I had my surgery on 1/16/13 and I am 2 days post op.  The day of surgery was frustrating.  Told to get to the hospital at 8:30 am but told my surgery was at 1pm!  Anyway, I planned for a gastric bypass but when I got out of surgery, my doctor had to do a gastric sleeve instead because he found I had a bowel hernia!  I actually wasn't upset but I was in a lot of pain afterwards!  The pain meds had me so doped up I barely knew what was going on.  Didn't sleep that night.  Plus they put a foley in.  YUK!  When I finally didn't take the narcotic pain med that made me groggy, I began to feel more alert.  Then, I couldn't wait to go home!!  Thank the good Lord that the leak test was good.......no leaks!!  Got home early evening yesterday, didn't sleep well again.  Having a problem with my esophagus.  My dr. said it is probably due to the breathing tube.  I feel like there is "acid" in there, like a lump and will get pain when trying to belch.  It's terrible!!  I am hoping that I sleep well tonight and feel much better tomorrow.  Fingers crossed!  It's been a rough few days.  I am experiencing soreness too besides the throat problem.  Not an easy journey now but praying that I will get better as time goes on.

I thank God for all He has done for me the last few days.  I know He is with me and will continue to watch over me.
