Well I am 5 months out from surgery and I have lost 89 pounds. Woo hoo!! I feel great and am continuing to lose more weight as I type! None of my clothes fit me anymore so I am going shopping next week! Its a great feeling to have more energy.

Yes it is finally true. I received my approval over  month ago and now that I am on my cpap machine Susan scheduled my surgery with Dr. Pop for October 29th. I'll go for PAT's on October 14th as well. At first I was not feeling the excitement because of the turmoil that is my personal life, but now I am doing better, and getting more anxious to just have it done and over with already.
This is totally a new beginning for me, my husband and I have split and good riddence to him. I can look forward to renewed health and new body in the near future, and the most important thing of all is that I have my beloved daughter by my side always.I am truly blessed.

Well by now I have had my sleep study done and they concluded that I have moderate sleep apnea. I have to go back on August 12th to be hooked up to a cpap machine to see how I do on it. I will then have to get my own cpap machine for home to sleep at night for a while.
The big news is that I finally got my OHIP approval today!!! YAY!!! Everything I had to do is done. The Barix clinic said that I will be able to schedule my surgery six weeks from when I start on the cpap machine which is august 12th so I can look forward to having my surgery sometime near the end of September! I love it when a plan comes together!! I just let out a big sigh of relief!!!

Last Friday I had an appointment with my Family doctor and she is sending me for sleep study, still waiting for the appointment for that though. As soon as she gets Dr. Poplawski's letter she will send it along with my OHIP form. After thats all done all I have to wait for is approval then we can schedule the actual surgery. I think that this will all fall into place fairly quickly. I am hoping by the end of June to have my surgery if all goes well.

Well I trekked on over to Ypsilanti yesterday, to have my consult at the Barix Clinic. It only took about 40 minutes from my house to there. We had a great group session led by Dr Poplawski. Afterwards I waited about an hour to see the doctor for my one on one appmt. He was so nice, and very supporting. He is recommending me for surgery as soon as I can get my OHIP approval, and I have to go for a sleep study, but after that's done he said we will schedule the surgery as soon as we can. He wants me to lose about 15 pounds to shrink my liver so I can have the surgery laparoscopically. Because I probably have sleep apnea I will have to wear the oxygen mask at night before and after the surgery for a while. I was totally impressed about how thorough they are there. Asked about a million questions it seems,  I was surprised at how many things I realized i had wrong with me. I guess that must have more than convinced Dr, Poplawski that I need the surgery a.s.a.p! He is sending a letter to my doctor for her to include with my OHIP forms. I will have to get on her to finish them up so I can get my approval faster. I personally hope I can get the surgery done by the end of June. He said that they were booking surgeries 6 weeks out. That's fast! I can't wait.

So as of today I am waiting for my doctor to finish the forms and send them in. I have my first consult at the Barix clinic in Ypsilanti on Thursday. I asked my father to go with me because my husband does not like hospitals or clinics and he would just drive me nuts the whole time anyway. And because I'm a Daddy's girl and its just more comforting for him to be around when I am facing trials. He always knows just what to say or do to support me. In the grand scheme of things the only man a woman can really depend on is her Daddy. :)
I am excited to be starting this process. I can't wait to lose the weight and be healthier and not feel like crap all the time.
