I went to the doctor today for a follow-up and I haven't lost any weight, in fact I've gained. I know that it has to be from the swelling. My legs are swollen and I'm still real bloated. thank god they removed the drainage tube. That was awful, don't let anyone tell you any different. My whole abdomen hurts and I got very nauseous afterwards. It's over now though and I go back in two weeks. Hopefully, there will be a change then.

It's all down hill now or should I say down scale..lol. I can't believe I did it, that it is over with. Of course, every time I stand up I feel it. I feel such a sense of accomplishment. So many people are telling me that they are proud of me. I'm just glad that the scary part is over with. The walking really does make you feel better. I'm still sore and groggy, but I feel GGGRRREEEAAATTT!!!!!!

I went for my pre-op today. It's starting to sink in that this is really going to happen for me. I was nervous and chatty all day. I have to say that I loved going to the complications class with the other women. Knowing that someone else is feeling the same way that you do is a very comforting thought. No judgements, or snickers, or gazes to make you feel uncomfortable, just compassionate understanding of each other and realizing that our lives are changing for the better everyday. I wanted to hug all these ladies and tell them what a sisterhood I felt with them. I truly felt glee beaming from my own smile today. Only 13 more days to go.......................

It has been so long since I've updated or anything. Finally, after waiting and waiting, I got approved (Medicaid-Amerigroup). Thank you Lord! I'm elated and counting the days. August 3rd is the day that will change my life as I know it.

Well now, all my paperwork is in for the surgery. I have called and checked to make sure they have all they need. Of course, there is one more document needed before they send it off for approval from the insurance company. I only hope that Amerigroup is fast with their decision. i've been smoke free for about 5 weeks now and managed to put on about 10 more pounds. I keep telling myself to eat what I want because I will not be able to much longer, but I'm finding that certain foods are starting to make me uncomfortable. What's up with that? I'm proud of my progress so far, I just wish I could speed things along. I would have the surgery tomorrow if I were able. I just need to pray and be patient. I do believe it will happen.

I received my e-mail from the surgeon telling me to go ahead and get up all of my clearances for the surgery. I'm getting more excited. I haven't smoked a cigarette in four days. I only need my nutrition consultation and go see my pcp for the bloodwork and I will have all of the paperwork ready for them.
