Hello, My name is Latoya and I guess I need to give my story. I'm 36 yr old and I'm married with two gorgeous boys.. 13 and 2 1/2 and they are the joys of my life. I have been battling my weight for the majority of my life. I have dieted and have been successful the hardest part is maintaining for me. I can lose the weight but it's so hard to keep it off. I've made some huge changes in my life, some really big steps but my decision to have WLS has been the biggest of all. I'll admit I'm a little nervous, but I refuse to give up or turn away. I just started researching surgeons, and reading the msg board daily to hear people's pros and cons and it's very helpful. I have only discuss my decision witha few ..I consulted in the man who means the most to me and that's God. I prayed about it and I let it go. My husband is also on board, and I love him dearly for his support.
I made the call to sit in on a seminar at the end of the month, this is the first step for me..the biggest step that means I'm not as much as a coward as I thought I was. Yes I was one of those ppl who felt WLS was a cop out or the easy way out, but how wrong I was, it takes a lot of discipline to conquer this new life style. So today ..or may Monday 8/10/09 was the first day of the rest of my life to live my life healthy..and slimmer.
