Hello EVERYONE! Thank you for stopping by to view my blog and photos! Come back often because things, they are a changin’! First off I want to send out some THANK YOU’S to all of you that continue to stand by me and support me over the past 2+ years! It truly has been an inspiration to me to have so many people behind me and my decision to have WLS. Of course my 1st thank you goes out to my baby girl Jaden … pumpkin I love you with ALL my heart and soul, you are the most important thing in my life! What would I do without you? (Besides pull my hair out?) And of course my love and thanks goes out to my husband Jason … you have loved me all this time and never cared what I looked like on the outside and even commented that you “sometimes” miss my bigger rear end now! Then all my thanks goes to my family and friends … Mom, Dad, sisters Nicole and Jennifer and brother Harry – of course all their spouses and children (Manda, Zachary, Justyn and Little Hannah!) My Mother-In-Law Carol, Sister-In-Law Adrienne and her new husband Chuck … you have always supports me and never criticized my decision to go through with the surgery! And of course ALL my friends – if I “try” to name all of you I will forget someone so just know that I THANK ALL OF YOU! Now a little about me … I was born in Troy, NY on April 20, 1977 … I have 2 older sisters and a younger brother. We had a GREAT childhood and I loved growing up where I did. Weight (for me) wasn’t a conscious issue as a child. I was not raised to “hate” how big I was though I have always been a husky kid. I loved who I was and was an upbeat kid and was outgoing. I played a lot of basketball and tried many other sports. I never gave up no matter how big I was – I did what I enjoyed doing and kept at it. My weight became a depressing issue for me as I graduated from high school – became single and realized that I wouldn’t be able to find a guy to love me for me! Enter the amazing world of AOL and that is how I “met” Jason … we met on the internet September 21, 1997 – I moved to Minnesota on May 18, 1998 and we were married on June 19, 1999 … It was a wonderful wedding even though my wedding dress was a size 22 and doubled as a large table cloth! I was still an outgoing person and remained a happy person on the outside. Then I became pregnant and was elated to be a mom … after gaining 30 unnecessary pounds in 2001-2002 I gave birth to my daughter and saving grace Jaden Alexandra! She was born on a cold March morning and changed my life the instant I looked into her eyes - I can not explain it – she just did! After having Jaden my weight skyrocketed to 280 pounds … I then became a lazy mom who refused exercise and had an excuse to nap and stay indoors – I had a baby remember? Well fast forward to 2003 when my neighbor Jill mentioned that she was having WLS surgery that July and that gave me some research skills and the jump start to go ahead with surgery too! My the time I walked in to the Pre-Op room on July 26, 2004 I weighed in at 303 MISERABLE pounds, dangerously high blood pressure and difficulty breathing … I took a picture of Jaden into the ER with me knowing her face was what made me decide to have this surgery – I wanted to see it the moment I woke up from surgery! Having Jaden look up to her mom and teach her how to be healthy and to be a good person was my motivation. I don’t want her to struggle like I did – she saved her mommy! And for that I will forever be grateful!
