It's done!

Apr 16, 2007

April 12th was my surgery date.  I had a VSG and was in the hospital for 2 nights because my gut was slow to wake up from surgery.  The worse part was the pressure from the gas (the gas they put into your abdominal cavity during surgery).  As quickly as possible, I began walking (PCA Morphine was my very best friend) and that helped.  My nausea was minimal, mostly due to scheduled Zofran and a Scopalamine patch that my doctor had ordered.  On April 14th, I was released from the hospital.  I spent most of that day laying around, sipping water, and sleeping. The next day, I sat around the house, but it was so pretty outside, I took a very slow walk to the park (about 1-2 blocks from our house) with the kids and hubby.  I managed just fine, except I was extremely sore and tired that evening.  Guess I will take things a little slower.

will talk again soon...
