Hi my name is Iris. I am a 27 year old female from Miami, Fl but living in Montgomery, AL. I am a mother of 4 and I had my surgery on Feb 8 of 2005. I am down to 124lbs and I am soooo happy. I started at 270lbs.
Before I had my first child I weighed in at only 135lbs. After my son was born I weighed in at 150lbs and then I got pregnant with my oldest daughter. After I had her I went down to 160lbs. At that point I got pregnant with my middle daughter. I had her and then weighed 180lbs. After 3 babies in 3 years I decided that was enough and got Depo-provera. (big mistake) I gained 70lbs. with it and got up to 250lbs in "ONE" year. I stayed 250lbs. till I got pregnant with my youngest daughter. She was diffrent. When I got pregnant with her I lost weight. (Lost 15-20lbs) that was when I first got pregnant (morning sickness lol) I then gained back but only to 260lbs. (Which is very good) Then after I had my baby I had an IUD placed. (Bad idea again) I gained 10lbs within the first couple months. On New Years Eve I was fedup with my weight and I finally broke after my sister tried to take a picture of me. I started crying and said "I'm going to get Gastric!" I had been doing research on it for a few years. Everyone told me not to especially my sister. She told me "If you do I will not talk to you anymore. Cause you will be skinny and I will still be big" I said " I don't care I don't want to be big anymore." After coming back to Mississippi from vacation in Miami I called and made an Appt. to talk to a doctor about my problem. That was in Jan '05. I had my surgery about 3 or 4 weeks later.
