well it is now 9 days post-op and i must say ,it has been ALOT better than i ever dreamed it would be .....from the surgery till now has been so smooth and really has been a very good experience. Just alitle about the whole thing:
06/06/07 Wed. First the surgery; beleive it or not they actually started ahead of schedule , out on time everything went as planned ,recovery was good ,,,,,,,,,,the one thing i really did hate was that stupid tube down my nose....my mouth waas so dry i could not swallow ,,but ice chips was a life saver ........had to stay in recovery for about 5 1/2 hr ,,but only because they had to wait on a room up stairs for me ..first night i think i walked only once because it was so late getting to my room ....but about 3:30 am ( yes there is 2- 3:30's in a day )they came in and started taking tubes out ( thank GOD the nose was first )
the rest of the day was walking ,breathing treatments, leak test,blood test , etc......then about 2:30 pm i was on my way home waaaahoooo......very little pain and discomfort but not a lot took my pain meds till about Sat. morning and stoped them ...and it has been going great every since............................
06/13/07  my one week follow up ..no surprises ,,,staples came out everything  looked good ......weight lose as of then ( from 2 weeks pre-op with my liquid diet and one week post-op)    down -34 lbs   it has been unbeleivable  so far and i expect nothing less to come ............thanks everyone for all the surport out there......and if anyone has any question about your up coming surgery please feel free to contact me i would be pleased  to help anyway i can .........Bye for now ,,,Dana

thanks to everyone for the wellwishes everyone has send to me .it really helps alot to know that other people are thinking about you during this time ....one more day at work then drive to ocala (2 1/2 hrs ) spend the night and then...........................the day ....weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...oh did i say i am sooooo ready ?    well i am .......i'm sure i will be on here alot post op with many question to find answers for ..lol .......well that all for now ,,next time i am on here it will be post op .....ttfn ...........

well i had all my pre-op stuff done thru 5/31/07 everything went smooth at Dr. Jawad's office and at the hospital (just a long day , i live about 2 1/2 hrs away ) everyone at Dr. J's office was very nice and informative , they covered alot of things that i would have had questions about but they covered most of them in the info . every one at the hospital was very nice and professional but not stuffy .well three more days till S-day 06/06/07   weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

tomorrow 5/23/07 will start my 2 week count down to surgery,,,,got to start the 2 protein drinks a day ,,,, hope i do everything the way i should ,,the things i know about i know i will ,,it's the things i don;t know about that scares me .....but i know it all will be fine .......more later...

well 3 weeks to go till s-day (surgery) getting more and more ready every day ,the guy that lives next door to me have the same surgery alittle over a year ago , he has lost something like 185 lbs. he has been a big help and encourgement to me,also i have been going to a suport group meetings for a year now and they have been great also ......man i can't wait ....
