In December of 2006 I had a lapband placed by a surgeon in Houston. I lost weight for the first 6 months, but as the fills increased I was not able to tolerate water and we had to stop the fills. I also changed jobs which no longer covered the fills so I was not able to see the doctor. Over the course of a year and a half, I have gained back all of the weight that I lost plus some. After another insurance changed, I discovered that my insurance company covers bariatric surgery. I am on the journey to have a revision.
