2/9/07 Hello how is everyone doing?? I have been researching WLS for 2years now.. I was going to have the bypass surgery done in 2005, But i punked out so unfortunatly Im still big as Hell.. I have even put on more weight since 2005, Im tired all the time my joints are killing me and im just plain old fed up with my weight period. I have always been on the plump side as a child/Teenager. I am 30 years old and a single parent with two kids, a have a daughter that is 6yrs old and a son that is 15yrs old. I feel so bad that i can't or Im just to tired to do anything fun with my kids, I get really depressed because my daughter is always in the house with me bored out of her mind because I don't have the energy to go outside and play with her, "S***" let alone stay ou to play a game of Dora the explorer Memory game with her...... Anyway I am choosing to have this surger not only for me but for my kids as well because they are my life..... I want to be arouund for them when they get old and have thier own kids..." U feel me"!!!!! Well people I will keep you posted, i decided to have the lapband done since i didn't mention earlier what kind of surgery i was having... Aight Later till i post again!!!!
2/11/07 I decided to post something again I forgot to tell ya'll that I did see my surgeon for the lap band. In 2005 when i was going to have surgery I had alot of my test done,so basically now alll i have to do is have my blood work re-drawn and have my Ekg done, also he told me that since now i switched to having the lapband done I have to get to more test done to check and see how bad my acid reflex is, he said its like a ex-ray and that i would have to drink this nasty stuff called contrast to do the test..... well thats all i have to tell for now so i will keep ya'll posted....
7/31/08 Hello everyone I am so happy to tell ya'll that today i got approved for the lapband surgery..."YEAH" I am so happy that i will finally be able to be healthy and of course lose all this excess weight and to be there for my children.. This whole process has been rough, doing all those tests and being denied of my old insurance since i worked for the state. I now work for Port Authority and my new insurance finally covered the procedure. I am so happy that i have the job that i have been applying for ,for years and now i can have a new me and a new attitude/selfesteem with my new job... Well I have to be scheduled for my pre-op appointment this week ,they will go over everything with me at that time and schedule my surgery.....I will keep you all posted ... That you Jesus!!!!!
3/3/07 Well I have finally gotten my bloodwork done and my Ekg, They haven't faxed it to my Doctor yet so now since i work at the hospital where i got my tests done I have to do other people jobs now.. Got my results faxed up to me so i can fax the S*** myself..... If i do it i know it will get to the right place...HUUUH!!! LOL Well i have My Upper Gi,endoscopy,and motility study to do then im done with my tests< I will let ya'll know how it went......Later
4/9/07 Well hello people!!!! I just had my endoscopy done on 4/4/07,, Man i was alittle bit nerves because i didn't know what to expect,, but it was actually a pieace of cake.. They gave me some anesthesa to put my big azz to sleep then boom when i woke up i was in they recovery area. well today 4/9/07 i go for my motility study and upper gi thats when you have to drink tht nasty white stuff and im getting my chest x-ray done and im done with all my tests.... i just have to get my doctor to re-submit my medical clearence and i will be ready to start my surgery process... OOOOW i can't wait..... well i gotta go for now so i'll talk to ya'll soon...... OOoh im sorry i forgot to tell ya'll my endo results, the doctor said i have a small hernia and that i do have acid reflux so i am taking pepcid now to control and cure that!!!!!!! later
5/1/07 Well hello,, It's been a couple weeks since i posted anything..Well i have finally completed all of my test instead of one. I have to have the esphogeal motility study done so i will be scheduling for that today, and i just have to see my pcp for my clearance then i will be ready to submit my paper work so i can get approved for surgery... "Im so excited" I can't wait tio finally start the process to getting my weight off, not only for the looks but for my health because my whole entire body just aches and im always tired with no energy to be able to interact with my 2 kids.... Anyway's i will be keeping ya'll posted.....Later!!!!
5/1/08 Hello again! I know it's been awhile since i posted,,"wow" it's been a full year now...I haven't had surgery yet, i ran onto some obsticles along the way.. I have switched jobs, i haven't had any good coverage to be able to get the lapband done, but with my new insurance it will not cover the lapband, something about it's experamental and my policy will not cover that. I decided to get the gastric bypass instead, I have lost some weight so far on my own, I was 274 now i am 251. I have just finished up my last follow-up nutrtion appointment with my pcp, so now my surgeon's office can submit my paper work for approval.. Im hoping everthing goes through ok, I can't wait to begin to strt cutting some of this bacon off my back...."hahahahaha" Im silly excuse me for that..People say that i am the next Monique because i alwys have jokes and something fuuny to say out of my mouth....Well im praying that i get a yes on my approval, till then i'll keep you posted...Later....
8/28/08 Hello everyone! I have GREAT news i was approved for surgery on 7/30/08 after all that Drama i been through with being with then without insurance and with my insurance didn't cover the surgery. Well finally i have ins. that will cover my surgery. After my approval i was scheduled for my pre-op appointment on 8/7/08 and my surgery was scheduled for 8/18/08...I am glad to say that i had my surgery and at my post-op appointment on 8/27/08 and lost 20.1 pounds in a week... I was suprised/happy that i lost that much weight already, i went from 256pre-op to 236 post-op. I feel great !!!!!!
