Little over a year has passed
Aug 13, 2008
Well i just turned 34 this past Sunday (August 10) I must say this past year has been filled with so many great things for me. I am almost the woman I always saw myself as. Im down 60 lbs now and 40 more to go to meet my doctors goal and 60 lbs to reach my personal goal.
I just came back from a mini vaction/birthday celebration in Atlantic City. This would be my 3rd trip there and we always gamble, eat and drink. I had to modify that a bit since my trip prior to that was pre surgery. We ate but we bought one plate and we shared it and still had leftovers for a late night snack. I had my first drink post surgery. yeah i know Im too early out to be drinking but gambling and drinking go hand and hand and i probably wont have anything eles to drink for 6 months or better. I tell you surgery has made me a cheap drunk 1 shot of tequila and I am drunk as a skunk. I dont promote drinking after surgery becasue thats your own personal choice but I will say if you decide to do so make sure you are with someone you trust the first time. Becasue I had no idea it would kick me in the butt like that. Pre surgery it would have taken at least 7 or 8 drinks to get me were I was off 1 drink. But I had a ball.
I want to end this blog just giving thanks for all the blessing that I have been given. I thank him for thinking more of me than I could ever think of myself.

What an amazng journey this has been so far. I went to my 2 month checkup last week and the Nutrionist and my PCP said I was doing really well. I was concerned that i wasnt getting the right things. So i took in some labels of things I eat on a regualr basis and she let me know that they were just fine. Of couser she said I need to do better about my protein which I already knew. I have tried so many diffent protein drinks and I just cant tolerate any of them, its just not a good taste. So I decided I would try the unflavored Unjury..............IT IS THE BEST. i dont taste that proetin falro at all. I have gone from forcing myself to try to get one down a day to happily drinking 2 a day. i have made all kinds of smoothies. That in itself was a major hurdle for me. Now if I can just conquer that exercise thing I will be doing really good.
I weighed myself this mornign to my suprise I am now down 57 lbs. Getting across the 50 lb mark seem to be so difficult but now I have accomplished that plus 7 more. My PCP goal for was 200 lbs and my personal gaol is 180. Either way I think that I well on my way. I am just so proud of myslef, I have just done HELLA GOOD in 2 1/2 months. All my pants are too big now and Im just slapping a belt on with them until I get to a more stable weight. I had a short perod of time where I was out shopping but I think that was because I was just amazed I could get into a size 18 and the 22/24 shirts were loose on me. I love that feeling. Next time I report I hope to be able to say i have hit that midway point. Until next time. xoxox

Well not a lot going on with me. I went back to work this week and got a lot of compliments on the weight lost. Its amazing how interested in the surgery people get after you have had it. I cant count how many time I have been asked "well how much do you eat now". I keep getting well how are you feeling. My answer to both are i dont eat nearly as much as i use to and I FEEL GREAT. I went shopping.....yeah i know this is no time to be buying clothes and loosing weight but I really needed some shorts. So I headed to my favorite, well the one of few places I can shop for right now....Lane Bryant. Lo and be hold the shorts are 2 sizes smaller than I was wearing prior to surgery. I was sooooo excited about that. I also went shopping today (yeah I know i have a problem) Got the cutest little outfit. Thats all i going to be buy for now. But it feels so good to go in put on clothes and they just fit so much better.
I also went to the gym and I guess since I have droped a few pounds the pace i use to walk os no longer a challenge for me. I guess Im going to have to pick up the pace now. Which feels really good, cause if im not winded and sweating like a pig I dont feel like I got a good work out in.
Right now im trying to get over this 40lb hurdle. My first goal is 50 lbs gone and it seems like its going to take me forever to get to it. i cant really complain because I havent been this small in soooooooo many years. Well until next time.......XOXOX
2 week check up

I had my first wow moment yesterday. Even though the scales said I lost weight I just wasnt seeing it. I tried on some clothes I had that were too small or snug and to my suprise they fit very well. I had some clothes I was about to donate to the Goodwill, I gotta rethink that. Im going to go thru them again see what I can wear. Plus I had a pair of jeans I had bought form Old Navy and if any of you have shoped there you know there plus stuff runs a little small. Well the jeans were a size 20 and yeah they fit tooooo. I was so happy I was about in tears. Hopefully this will be one of many WOW momnets. Till next time XOXOXOX
