Well, I had my surgery a little over a week ago and I am feeling great.  The first day after surgery I was so nauseaus that I was dry heaving - let me tell you how badly that hurt!!!  I thought to myself - WTF have I done?  LOL

Once I got past that and go to go home - it was much easier.  However; on Sunday night/early Monday morning - I was hurting so badly I was crying - for the first time.  So, I took my pain medicine at midnight and again at 4 a.m., but then I haven't taken any since then!!!  YEAH!!!

Today is my first day that I have taken my binder off and I am feeling pretty good.  I do have a blood clot in my left arm that we are keeping a watch on, but I think it will be ok.  As of  today I have lost 14 pounds, wow it goes quickly.  Let's hope it keeps moving quickly.

I am ready for a little more variety in the food section, but that will come in a few more weeks!

I had my nutrition class today and met a really nice woman that I am going to keep in contact with.

The class was so helpful and full of information!  There is a lot of information to absorb - so I am glad that I have a few weeks to do so.

Next Monday I get final clearance at the medical history exam!

I had my pre-op testing and I was surprised how organized they are and how little I had to wait.  The stuff for the upper GI was nasty - pop rocks (like alkaseltzer) and the nasty chalk drink!  Yuck!

Well, hopefully everything turns out ok.

May 31, 2007 - Psychological Evaluation

Today I went for my psychological evaluation and everything was fine.  I had to answer about 500 questions though - it took quite a while, but the evaluation was painless - so now I wait to be approved

May 13, 2007 - Approaching the Initial Consultation
 Well, I have my initial consultation with the surgeon on Wednesday and I am excited, apprehensive and just want it over with.  I have so excited when I think about how much my life will change that I am ready to move on with the process - but I know that I am early in the process at this point.

Most of my friends have been really supportive, but concerned at the same time.  My mom is going to the consultation with me, so she will keep my head out of the clouds.
