Rana Pullatt

"Dr Pullatt and his team is excellent. I am a sleeve to Loop DS. I also had a large strangulated hernia he was able to fix as well. My surgery was done with the Davinci Robot. Dr Pullatt is the only one in the that uses it and he is well known for teaching around the world. He is a very caring and patient man, who I feel cares deeply for his patients. He has never made me feel rushed when I see him. He also has a team of residents and Kevin is an amazing resident. Keep in mind that the Medical university is a teaching hospital. The care in the pre-op was excellent as well. However, I would not recommend this hospital for an overnight stay. Normal is they run 15-20 over capacity. Heart patients are a priority for beds. So you will get held in the post-anesthesia room(recovery room) until discharge which is usually the next day. The recovery home has zero privacy, just a bunch of bays with curtains. They have ONE bathroom used by patients, staff, and visitors which is gross. They have NOTHING set up for bariatric patients. So no gown to cover your behind. Yeap I saw plenty of bare behinds toddling to the bathroom. No choice was other than bathroom or bedpan. They don't have regular hospital bedsheets so half the bare bed is stuck to you. They have NOTHING set up for bariatric patients in this space PERIOD. The nurses I encountered were rude and ignored me as they did with most of the bariatric patients and the black patients in the unit. They even went so far as to put the one white patient in a double bay on the other side of the room. They spent most of there time with the white patient ignoring everyone else. They left my side rails down so I couldn't call for help. I was suppose to get IV fluids and sip. They disconnected my IV when I went to the bathroom the first time and never reconnected . I had NOTHING to drink. The nurses spent most of there time laughing and having a good time at the desk farthest away from the dark side of the room and with the white patient and their family. The really left a sour taste in my mouth and ruin what had been a perfect surgical experience. I got to meet the coordinator for the Robot and got a picture of my surgeon with the robot. I was also told by other staff that this was the newest and hospital built and was so beautiful inside and how I would love my room. I never got a room. and the recovery room was fine until the regular dayshift crew left and then it turned into a very scary episode of Squid games. In the end as I left the hospital for early, My anxiety and fear added to the fact they were not following any of the doctors others. I would recommend this facility for same day surgery. But if a planned over night stay....you have been warned they never have beds...so you will be stuck in PACU. Considering if I had stayed a nurse would have double dosed me on muscle relaxers. I am glad I did not stay. "

Atlanta Medical Center (COE)

"The staff when I checked into pre-op were so wonderful. The nurse got my IV on the first try and I am very difficult to stick. One I was ready and they took me to OR holding. I had a wonderfully sweet male nurse who made me very at ease. They made sure I was warm and comfy, Gave me socks for my feet. When I got to the OR I was impressed. They made sure my lumbar back was supported and I was confortable before knocking me out. When I work up I was in my room. I don't remember the recovery room at all. Though my family says I was there for almost 4 hrs. Once I got to the floor the nurses were very sweet, very helpful. My family came in to be with me from out of town. They brought them blankets juice and snacks. My doctor ordered pain meds every 4 hrs and though they were prompt with bring them the first day was rough. I was out the bed and walking and my nurses were impressed that they did not have to ask. I was also up to bathroom as well to pass gas. I had a urinary catheter the first 24 hrs. They also brought me plenty of ice chips. My stay at Atlanta Medical Center was excellent. I never needed to ask for anything. I would highly recommend them. One of my nurses was also a bariatric patient as well. "

Clarence R. Hixon

"Dr Hixon is awesome. Excellent bedside manner. He is never rushed and always available to answer any questions and concerns. Gladys his nurse is awesome as is the other office staff. Super friendly, very relaxed and very efficient. This office is definately a well kept secret! My experience from start to finish was awesome. It was if I was dreaming it went so smooth! My post op experience so far as been wonderful. I had almost no post op incisional pain. Some internal pain. I came home and took pain meds for two nights and then never again! I was amazed. "

Richard Symmonds

"Dr. Symmonds did not band me but has been doing my follow up care since Dr. D. Rodriguez in Dallas moved away. I love their clinic. Its easy to get to and easy to get appnts. He has a wonderful Nurse Practitioner that does my follow-up and fills. I love them. I wished they had been doing banded when I was originally band. I have had more success in the past six months with them than in the whole time I have been banded. I would highly recommend their program. rnrnrnrn"
