Hello Everyone!

We made it through the first holiday.  I did my christmas shopping online this year.  I got to take advantage of the bargains and it was so much easier.

Here is my update...

I am feeling wonderful. I don't take any prescriptions except for tylenol when needed.  That was my biggest goal.  I am down to 161 pounds.  The first goal that was set for me was 145 lbs.  My surgeon felt that it was too much.  I need to get down to may be 150.  Hmmm hoping that I don't look sick.  It still gets challenging at times.   Your mind tells you you're hungry but your pouch tells you different,  My goal is to stay focused and find the ways to keep myself busy when those moments come my way.

My 6 week checkup went well. I've lost 25 lbs since surgery but a total of 61 lbs since I've started my new life.  He said all incisions are healing great.  Dr Rumsey has extended my time off for two additional weeks.  He gave me some great ideas on the food preps.  My goal is to increase my walking every day. Hmmm perhaps do more the 10,000 steps. 

My two-week post appt was on 5/19/10 in Riverside.  I was happy to be able to go locally but at the same time going to San Diego is always a treat.  I weighed in at 233 with a lost of 13 pounds.  That's fabulous for me.  My personal treat is that I don't have to take any meds at all.   I am taking my daily muli-vitamin and my B12 once a week.  Dr Rumsey said all my wounds look great.  I get to start having the soft foods.  I was excited to eat an egg today.  My mind told me I could have the entire egg.  But like the doc said, I could have half the egg.  You know what? It was more than enough.  So here I go back to sipping my water again.  I get to go swimming now, ride my bike a litte.   In another week, I can go back to my water aerobics.   Now that sounds fresh.  Summer is almost here.

My surgery was a success.  Honestly, my first hour after surgery was probably my most difficult.  Dr. Rumsey and all the hospital staff at Pacific were so awesome.  That's actually putting it lightly.  They were beyond my expectations.  I just got home today.  It feels so good to be home.  I'll be home for about 6 weeks.  I'm just not so sure if I will take all that time off.  I guess time will tell. 

The ladies I met there during preop became my friends.  We did it together.  It was so nice having each other from the beginning to the end.  They were released as well, however, will be staying a couple more days until their follow up appointments.  I want to say thank you for your friendship to Sylvia and Wanda.  I wish you well and the very best on your journey.

I'll be back another day.  I'm pretty tired and gonna go get some rest.  Talk with you later. :)

Today I'll be on my way to San Diego for my post-op surgery.  I've had a roller coaster of feelings lately.  But overall I am really excited.  I am READY!  My surgery date is Thursday, 5/6/10.  Dr. Rumsey instructed me to loose 5 more pounds.  I did that and one more..lol.  I hope everyone is doing well here on OH.  God bless all of you and those you love.
