Ooohhh the PAIN!!!

Well, one week out and still recovering. Yesterday I was feeling much better and I thought most of the pain was behind me. Boy was I wrong!!! This afternoon and most of this evening I have had major chest pain from gas. Right at the top of my sternum I was having contraction like pains that would make it hard to breathe. Felt like a really big bubble that wanted to get out but couldn't. Not related to anything I ate, but it certainly didn't make me feel like eating. Even a hot drink wouldn't calm it. Some pain meds, a few GasX and a little nap seems to have calmed it down a little. Thank goodness. I couldn't have taken much more of that!!!The incisions are getting itchy as I'm getting sensitive skin from the steristrips. Some have even caused blisters and I've had to remove them.
Hard to get my fluid in, but I'm working on it. I'm enjoying the next stage of pureed foods. Today I dined on pureed chili with sour cream!!! Yumm. I can't stand the protein shakes anymore cause I can't chug them down, so I'll have to get creative and get the protein in somehow.
Hopefully tomorrow will be better than today pain wise.
