Hello to all! Thank you so much for your prayers and good thoughts. My surgery went very well. I ended up staying an extra day in the hospital due to a low grade fever, but came home on Monday, July 21st. My drain has been behaving itself, with no leaks as of yet, and I will be having it removed at my surgeon's office on Monday, July 28th. The only problem I've had was constipation, and that seems to have resolved with medicinal intervention (ew!). Also, I think that I had a very slight dumping experience when I took 2 TUMS and my 2 Flintone Vitamins at the same time. "The-bottom-fell-out-from-under-me" feeling, cold sweats, fatigue, and nausea... ugh. And if that was the mild version, it will be a VERY long time before I experiment with refined sugar. But, I'm doing really well with liquids and walking is no problem. I did overdo the walking at the mall on Wednesday and ended up with a fever and that "bottom-fell-out-from-under-me" feeling again, but, with some rest, t

So close to a new you and so many emotions! I haven't had mine yet but am hoping for this summer. My thoughts are with you before, during, and after. Keep up with the posts. They do help. With each reply you get there are 10 others you have helped or touched in some form or way. Listen to your peers and mostly your Dr. and support group. they know what you need. I'll be watching for those updated posts!

Hello to all! Time is ticking away as I get nearer to my surgery date. I am a little nervous/anxious. However, I know that this is the right decision for me, for my life, and for the future. Many thanks to all for your support. It means a great deal to me. This process would have been MUCH harder without this wonderful resource.

I just wanted to say GOOD LUCK on your surgery. Take a deep breath, try to relax. Know that we all care about you and are wishing you the best. Think positive, it really does help. After surgery, remember to turn, cough, take deep breaths, and walk to prevent complications. Hold your incision when you cough, it helps it hurt less. Keep your profile updated, it may make a difference in the live of someone else. Smile, keep your chin up! And lastly, if your chin does fall, just remember, from this position it is easier to moon people! :) (Also, humor helps too!)
