Hi Nancy! Congrats on getting your date, and YEAH for it being so soon! I had something similar happen to me such that I learned I'd have my surgery only 2 1/2 days before it happened. I am SOOOOO glad it happened this way. Not only did I make it to the losing side earlier than expected, but there was little time for panic to set in LOL Wishing you the best in your surgery and see you on the other side!

After a few phone calls, some departmental transfers and a long hold, I finally got my nutrition appt. It's going to be with the new nutritionist, Michelle(sp?), on July 2nd @ 1pm. So now, all my appointments are scheduled and I just have to work my way through them. By July 9th I'll know wether I have to do the "sleep test" or not, that's the only unknown. I really hope I can get scheduled before the first week of November; otherwise, I'll have to wait until after Valentine's Day... I manage a flower shop:( Either way, I must say I feel MUCH better about the surgery than I did the other day. I'm a real wuss still don't want surgery ever, for any reason; but, Dr Rosenthal made me feel much better about everything at the Orientation on Tuesday. I have also spent alot of time reading profiles, Q&A's and postings on this website and that has helped as well. I did find the Before & After pictures yesterday. WOW, can I tell you that bumped the fear of surgery right out of my head. Now I'm nervous about what I'll look like when I loose the weight! I'm afraid that no one will have any CLUE who I am, including ME! Well, next up is my phsyc appt, goody-goody!?! Take care, all!

Initial consultaiton with Dr Szomstein on 6/5. He explained that Dr Rosenthal would be handling my surgery because of the BMI. Luckily, I just had my yearly physical... so some of my tests are already done (ekg, chest exray, cbc). Other tests have been scheudled for 7/9. Psyc evaluation on 6/25. Waiting for callback on nutritionist appt. I am attending the Orientation on 6/10 with my mother and a family friend who is also on this path already w/Dr Rosenthal. I really do NOT want to have surgery; but I realize I am very lucky to be this weight and have no other major medical complaints. I just got insurance through work in February and it looks like they will cover everything since I have been diagnosed "morbidly obese". Actually, Dr S added another word onto that but I can't remember what it was; so, I have changed it to "supercalifragilistically morbidly obese". You know, I never really feel that way, though. I've been so lucky in that reguard as well. Well, I'm pretty sure this is all a GO; I feel much better after reading the postings here and talking to the other patients I met on Thursday in the waiting room. I really want to thank those 3 women for their words of encouragement; you helped a great deal.
