Almost there!

Sep 06, 2009

Well it's Sunday and today is my last day of shakes. ONLY 2 LEFT!!! Tomorrow I will start all clear liquids and Tuesday is surgery.

I just got home from Chicago. My husband and I went to the Red Sox Game yesterday. Talk about torture! The first thing I noticed when I got into the ball park was the smell. It hit me like a ton of bricks. The hot dogs and sausage with peppers. I was good though. I stuck to my liquid diet like a trooper. After the game we took the train to Millenium Park and walked about 3-4 miles back to our hotel. I woke up this morning feeling a size smaller. Dispite not being able to eat, we had a great time.

I have a whole lot of emotions about surgery. Sometimes I am scared and sometimes I am anxious to get it done. My doctor says my risks are higher than most patients because I had surgery for reflux and that will need to be undone before doing my bypass. It makes me nervous that I will have to have all that extra work done. At the same time I am anxous to get this part of the journey done so I can move on to the next part (recovery & weight loss). It would be nice to taste something else besides Jello & shakes.
