2 months post op

Apr 30, 2009

Well I am 2 months out and I'm doing great. I've lost a total of 42 pounds since surgery which was 2/26/09. I can now walk up a flight of stairs and not be out of breath. I'm so glad I did this and I have no regrets. I'm still struggling with exercising. I don't do it as often as I should but I'm working on that. Well gotta run. I will post some more as time goes on.

SURGERY DATE

Feb 19, 2009

I have a date for surgery and it is February 26, 2009. I'm so happy but yet really scared. I've started on the protein diet and it is going well. I don't mind it at all except for the fact that I got on the scale this morning and I've gained 4 pounds. I don't understand because I'm following the pre op diet like I'm suppose to . It has been a week since I started. I've only got 1 more week to go.

Just starting the process

Nov 01, 2008

I'm new at this so whoever reads it please bear with me. So here it goes. On Oct. 21 2008 I had my consult with Dr. Coates Pa. She was very nice and said that I would be a good candidate for gastric bypass. The office staff was very nice and helpful. I was able to get an appt. with the pschologist Dr. Morgan on Oct. 27 and that went very well. He said that he would clear me for the surgery. He said that he would get the paper work to Dr. Coates by Oct. 31.  Now I have an appt on Nov 4 with pcp for an ekg and physical. Then on Nov. 24 I have to see the nutritionist. Hopefully after all my appts are finished my pcp and nutritionist will get the paper work to docter coates fast. I will be a thorn in there side if they don't. I wish I would have started this process along time ago. I've been juggling the idea of gastric bypass for about 3 years now. Now it's time to do something about it. I'll try to keep up with my blog.
