Hello Everyone
My name is Netter I am 34 Years old & I weigh 344 Pounds. I have been overweight my whole life. I can remember being teased from the age of 6. I was 1 out of 3 biggest kids in my school. Kids can be so cruel with name calling. Food was my friend it didn't talk back or judge me. So I guess that is what started my problem with food.
I have a great & gentleman in my life. My husband Jeff. We have been together for 12 1/2 Years now. We have been married for 10 Years. He is my Best Friend & Lover. I would not change anything about him. We both are overweight and that is not healthy for us.
I have diabetes and I have to take insulin. I hate having to shoot myself with a shot. I also take pills for diabetes. I Also have highblood pressure. I am hoping that surgery will help with these health problems.
My journey started I guess on November 2,2003.
Today I decided I am tired of being FAT. I did something very uncomfortable for me to do. I took a NAKED photo of myself.
(YES I SAID NAKED) for the whole world to see. (Not Really)
What a wake up call it is to see yourself naked you can not hide anything. Every roll & dimple is me not anyone else. You can not blame anyone else for your fat except yourself. I can not beleive how far I have let myself go.

January 8,2004.
I just saw my regular Doctor & he told me my diabetes is out of control. And I can not do my job for the next 3 months. I love my job a drive school bus. But for my health and the safety of the kids I can not drive until I am under control. He informs me I must see a Adult Endocrinologist. I have not seen so many Doctors in my whole life as the next 2 months.

I finally got up enough guts to call for the Intro Gastric Bypass Meeting. Yes there is a meeting today at 3:30 PM at Unity Hospital - Fridley MN.
I went to the meeting with my mother in-law Carolyn it was great and so educational. Carolyn has also had this surgery so she is great support. Received a info packet and filled it out that weekend. Next step meet with a nurse.
February 12,2004.
My first meeting with a nurse. The meeting went well. I have to lose 21 pounds. It is healthier for your surgery. Next step Psyhological Eval. The soonest time I can be seen for this is March 15,2004. The waiting is driving me crazy.

Meeting with Psyhologist. The tests I had to take were strange questions. Do you like dirt? True Or False. I don't think the visit went well. Have to come back April,19,2004 for the results.

Had meeting with Psyhologist all my test are back and everything is okay. He will be sending info to Unity. Next step wait to hear from them. I am so happy that everything went well. :)

The nurse called me today. And said I was approved. And my surgery date will be on July,1,2004 at 10:00 AM. I said that is only 1 month away. I am so happy and a little scared. Have lots to do before the big day. Have a meeting with nurse. To see what they will have to say.

Well I have had my surgery and everything has went well. I was walking around with in two hours out of surgery.
