All Liquid Diet...

Hey everyone, I am home!!!! No complications with surgery except my bladder wouldn't "wake up" due to pain meds so I was re"foleyed" twice!! I think that I am doing pretty good, but boy I wasn't ready for the -all liquid diet!!! I can't say that I am starving, but I have that silly hungry sensation all of the time, I have learned that I am suffering from head hunger!! Less than a week to go with this all clear liquid thing though and I WILL MAKE IT!!!! I am actually excited about mashed potatoes!! I have definately come to realize that this surgery is an all encompassing process! I have been pretty emotional from one extreme to the other. Just wanted to tell ya about a little emotional trauma the day before my surgery.....
I was scheduled to be at the hospital at 5:30 a.m. on Wed., Tues, afternoon around 1:00p.m. the hospital calls to inform me that they consider gastric bypass a cosmetic procedure and even though I have ins. coverage for my surgery just like any other surgery, I need $3,000.00 when I show up in the a.m.- are you freaking kidding me?? Needless to say I went ballistic and so did my sweet husband, who was fighting folks all afternoon to get an "arrangement" worked out!! My sweet parents helped to finance the part of the "payment arrangement "that I still needed. They are the best!! I then get a call at 4:15 p.m. from my surgeons office saying that the last info they recieved from my ins. company still said pending and unless they have final approval before close of business (i.e. 45 mins), my surgery would be cancelled!! I won't bore you with details but we got that all straighten out-Thank you Lord Jesus!! Needless to say this whole thing is going to be an adventure- I see! I am really struggling with the all liquid diet-ugh! This too shall pass........

Well, tomorrow is the Big day I am a nervous wreck to say the least! I am going to have to focus on all of the good things to come!! I am excited to be home and post again when the surgery is over, until then......
