Well I have not always been heavy well at least I think so. I remember being 160lbs and feeling great! My family had a major effect on my weight and self esteem and not to mention boyfriends along the way. I am 6'0 Tall so of course I am out of the ordinary to most folks for a female so my family called me fat when I wasnt because I didnt look like all the other kids in my family. My grandmother would force all of us to eat until the plates are clean and also growing up wasnt in many extra activities stayed with grandmother during summers which made me stay in the house with her and during school I was a latch key kid so in the house I stayed until parents came home from school and of course that started the eating. I maintained 180-190lbs until college which was great for me I looked good had a blast in college but I dated a football player and of course they eat so I ate with him instead of putting the fork down sham on me! I was also taking Depro birth control shots which didnt help as the years went on the weight packed on 30lbs here and there. I decided to change my eating habits and then lost about 50lbs and then guess what? Got pregnant well say the lease I gained the 50lbs back plus 80lbs and it has been down hill since. I am now 390 and my knees are affected. I am miserable and my mobility has become terrible! The LORD has blessed me with a wonderful man and I cannot enjoy life with him. He loves me the way I am but I feel he hasnt seen anything yet! I am ready to travel the world and experience life to the fulliest I cannot wait for my children to see the new me. I was approved on 11/06/2008 with UHC. I have been denied by Aetna HMO 5 times so prayer does work! I cannot wait for my journey to begin I feel like this superstar in this fat person's body. My surgery date is 12/12/2008 1:30pm @ North Fulton Regional Hospital in Roswell GA wish me luck guys! Thanks to all the support I have recvd so far!
