HI  My name is Denise aka Niecie.  I had my surgery Oct. 2006.  The day of my surgery I weighed in at 233 lbs.  I had my surgery at New England Medical Center in Boston, MA.  My surgeon was Dr. Julia Kim.  I remember when I first met her.  She explained everything in detail and then asked if I had any questions.  After answering my questions she asked if I was nervouse to which I replied yes....  She took my hand in hers and said to me  "let me do the worrying you just enjoy the ride".  And what a ride it has been.  I have lost 116.50 lbs.  That is half my weight.  I just can't believe it.  I use to take a 22 size pants I'm in a size 4.  WOW it's even amazing to type out.  How weird is that.  I still hold clothes up thinking I'll never fit in that only to find out I do.  My mind still has not caught up with my weight loss yet.

Before my surgery I was on three blood pressure meds a day, full blown fybromyalgia & arthritas, borderline diabetic.  I could hardly walk, always in constant pain in my lower back and leg 24/7.  It use to wake me up at night.  I also had severe sleep apneia.   Then one day my PCP told me if I didn't do something soon I would not make it out of my 60's.  Sooooo, I told him to make the arrangements and here I am.  NO MORE blood pressure meds, fybromyalgia & arthritas are under control, no sign of diabeties, NO MORE  pain & sleep apneia.  And I can WALK  & WALK & WALK.

This was the best thing I ever did for myself. My only regret as you may have heard over and over is that I didn't do this sooner.  My quality of life had gone from another dredded day to I can't waite to see what I will do tomorrow. \

All I can say is if you are considering this weight loss surgery do your homework and select the one that is best for you.  If you have already had it do excactly what they tell you.  You won't regret it.  Best of Luck to you all and much success.
Denise
