Working on it!

Jun 06, 2009

Ok, so I got my call on Tuesday for my surgery date which is on next thursday. I immediately had to go on Low Carb Atkins induction, which is required by Womack Army Hospital's Bariatric Program. Oh the joy of induction. If any of you have ever done this, and I am sure if your like me you have tried it all, you know how draining the first three days are. I am now getting over the hump but fighting a bad head cold. So head cold aside, I am determined to be up and at em! I went to the gym a few days ago so my husband could give me some pointers on building long lean muscles in my arms. Wow are they still sore. I have been more focused on cardio, so doing muscle exersises is a rude awakening for my body. It is funny how many different machines do the same things. I am swimming too, which I love. If I could, I would swim every morning and every evening. I love it so much. I am not liking the diet but am determined to deal with it. I know what I have to do. I am lucky to have given up caffeine already. I miss it but the sugar free, caffeine free suisse mocha coffee is really good. It satisfies that craving without the cheating. I have lost 3.5 pounds since tuesday and am definately happy about that. I cannot believe that my surgery will be here so soon. I am just so hyped!  I tell you, if you have never done it, Atkins does work, if you can stick to it. I just cannot stick to it. It is difficult. I can however endure for this surgery. Anything that I have to do, Im willing to do it. My daughter, continues to look at before and after pics and I think she is as excited as I am. We are both very feminine and love nail polish, make up, shoes, etc....so I will have a shopping partner in crime when this is over, lol!
