I am now 3 years post surgery. The best think I ever did was have the surgery. It didn't make life perfect, but it is better It gave me such hope that I too could exercise and eat right AND look normal.

I not militant and I still have days that I don't do all that I am supposed to do, but what I will tell you is that I wake up the next day with complete confidence in the fact that i can make better decisions today and be able to see results.

I still have the people in my life that see me eat a french fry or have a few bites of cake look at me like I am going to wake up tomorrow and be 285 pounds again. We all know that we didn't become obese by having A french fry or a FEW bites of cake.

I also think there was great benefit in my seeking counseling. My weight gave me an excuse for a lot of things and eating was how I coped. Both of those things changed so I needed to grow confidence and I needed new coping mechanisms.

We all deserve and healthy and potentially happy life....I am so grateful that I was able to have this surgery and am smart enough to keep using the tool it gave me.

I wish you all well.
