November 17, 2006 I had surgery 2 1/2 weeks ago and am doing great. I have had no problems and I am feeling great. I do get a little tired at times but I know it will pass. I have had no diabetes medicine since leaving the hospital and my blood sugar is in the normal range at all times. I have been able to go off almost all my medicine. I was happy to trade all my medicines for some vitamin and protein supplements. I am sleeping better than I have in years and can't wait until they take me off the c-pap machine. My heart is no longer going in and out of A-fib.
I lost 20 pounds before surgery and another 19 in the 2 1/2 weeks since surgery for a total loss of 39 pounds.
I am so incredibly blessed. God answered my prayer for healing. I give Him all the glory. And my husband! He is the best nurse a person ever had. He took vacation to take care of me following surgery. We actually had a great time during this time and hated it when he had to go back to work.
I'm really excited about the future. We are now planning a trip this spring that we had to cancel last year because my health couldn't handle all the walking, etc.
December 23, 2006, I am seven weeks post surgery and down 52 pounds. Doing great. Energy level is through the roof. Incredibly busy and loving it!
December 31, 2006, Total loss: 59 pounds
January 30, 2007, 3 month check up: Total loss: 70 pounds (20 before surgery, 50 after)
February 20, 2007 (16 weeks post op) Total loss: 81 pounds
March 28, 2007 Total loss: 89 pounds
May 1, 2007 6 month check up...Total loss: 95 pounds (20 before surgery, 75 after)
November 27, 2008 I have maintained my weight loss and begun the surgeries to remove excess skin. My diabetes, atrial fib, and severe sleep apnea all were resolved quickly following the roux-en-Y. I am so grateful to have my health back.
