My name is Carol I have been married for almost 20 yrs .I have been a registered nurse for 19. I have two children 18 yr old daughter and 16 yr old son. For years I have been taking care and focusing on my family and I finally decided to focus on myself. Thus Lap Band was the best option for me. It has been a long road.I seriously started may 28 ,2007 trying to qualify for the lap band after my 52 year old brother suddenly died of a massive heart attack.I have a big family history of heart disease so that awakened me. I know as a nurse that there are risk factors we can change and some we cant . weight was one that can absolutely be changed.So the trip began.6 months of physician asisited diet,pysch consult, nutrition consults. Finally on Good Friday I got the call from my surgeons office "CONGRATULATIONS YOU HAVE BEEN APPROVED!"It was like I won the lottery.After EGD,Ekg's ultrasounds, lab work, chest xrays,I got my date may 9th.
