4 schedulings

Feb 21, 2007

//Well, I have four appointments scheduled.  Orientation and first life style class on March 13, and Psychology and Dietitian on March 23.  Seems kinda fast, but who knows.  I am really hoping to get the surgery this summer.  But am prepared that it will take longer.  Soon we will have the fitness gym back in the house, and I can start working out and losing weight in prep for surgery.  Of course that is assuming I get approved for surgery.  But it seems that if you make it to all the appointments, and lose the weight, you're gold.  Well..I have a 16 month old clamoring for attention, so, catch ya later.

First Step

I saw my Dr. and asked about WLS.  She didn't even hesitate to refer me.  Yes, I'm with Kaiser and darn near everything requires a referral.  But I have been with them almost my whole life, and I'm still here.  Anyway, I've already had blood work and an EKG done, but not because of the surgery.  Blood work because I thought I was developing Diabetes.  Thank goodness, I wasn't.  And the EKG was because my chest/heart felt weird, and I ended up in the ER.  Turns out, I am actually phenomenally healthy for being so freaking over weight.  So, hopefully, that will help speed things up.  I saw Dr. Chen on Nov 28th, and got my letter of welcome to the program Dec 5.  Letter says orientation will be scheduled in next 12 to 16 weeks.  Crossing my fingers, and freaking out.  So, there ya go.  You've got my story, and my first step blog!
