My pre-surgery weight is 262 at 5'6".  I've always been a "big-boned" girl, as my family would say. I'm engaged to be married.  I have no children.  My overall health is outstanding considering my family's medical history.  I don't have high blood pressure or diabetes and my cholesterol level is fine. Because of my family's medical history, I'm scared that someday there may be a sudden onset of high blood pressure, or diabetes.  I want to prevent this by losing the weight, and keeping it off.
Growing up I've always had irregular periods due to the high level of estrogen that my body produces.  A woman's body should produce a certain amount of estrogen naturally.  However my body produces too much.  Too much estrogen causes me not to ovulate every month.  I guess you can say I have my own built-in birth-control system.  All in all, estrogen is fat.  Other than health reasons, our goal is to start planning for our first child in two years when I'm 34.  I'm hoping that weight loss surgery can help me reach this goal.
