Just short of 6 months. 180lbs gone.

May 13, 2014

I started my weight lost journey about a year ago and I have lost about 180 lbs I have gone from 465 at my highest to 290ish now. I feel good. No complications. I can walk for a few hours straight. I think in one day walking around Lad Vegas I walked a total of 14 miles in one day one 8 mile stretch. This is amazing considering I could not walk uphill from the parking lot to the office one block with out feeling like I was going to die. I am getting stronger. My orthopedic issues are lessening. Eating is still a challenge. I get hungry but and I can eat a normal meal but I am stuffed by the end. I still eat too much but I can't go over without pain now so I physically can't overeat. I still think I can eat too much. I concentrate on making good choices and staying away from sugar. I forget my vitamins a lot so I need to work on that. I am still glad I did the surgery. My greatest fear was the extra skin and it is not as bad as I was expecting it to be.

I hate food!

Jan 14, 2014

I really do not have an handle on my food. I know I am not eating the wrong things I just don't know if I am eating enough of the right things. I hate hate hate protein drinks and power. I seem to become lactose intolerant since the surgery and I get terrible gas after drinking milk where I was getting most of my protein boost for the day. Grr!!! I want to be doing so much better!

6 Weeks out

Jan 06, 2014

Hey folks! I am 6 weeks out from surgery and I am feeling pretty frustrated. I am not sure how to listen to my body. I feel hungry and I don't think I should. It makes me angry when I get like this. Tonight for dinner my stomach started hurting after eating about one and a half scrambled egg. I have kinda cut back from solid foods and moved back to soft foods so I don't have to feel so bad. I have not been able to walk much because of the weather and watching children. But I have been heading to the gym and swimming with fins on. I have heard that it really pumps up the work out by adding resistance. I have to admit more fun.

So today I have eaten two big table spoons of cottage cheese. A piece of cheese. I just finished about 1.5 eggs with cheese and salsa. Also had 2 bites of hamburger from my kids dinner.

I weighed in at the gym and I weighed in at 346.8 I am closing in on 120lbs lost.. so that is pretty exciting. Even though I am doing good over all I wish I did not feel so queszy in my stomach.

I get thirsty a lot. I live by popsicles "outshine" to help me get my liquids in.

But I have noticed the the gall bladder area pain is gone and the weird stiche like pain I was having is gone too so thats really good.

Still get light headed when standing up.

Hot tea helps think I may make some tonight.

Little more than than 2 weeks since surgery.

Dec 08, 2013

I have lost 26 lbs since surgery and 96lbs total since my heaviest. Feeling like superman but having trouble getting the 75 grams of protein the want me to get in each day. Sigh! Still dealing with gal bladder pain from surgery.  My incisions are not even healed and I am almost at the 100lbs mark! Whoot whoot!

Getting ready for surgery.

Oct 21, 2013

I had my final appointment. I have finished the one year coaching program through Anthem that my employer requires. Just waiting for final approval then I am ready to go. Getting anxious. I think this will be a very good surgery for me. I am doing Gastric By Pass. I have bad reflux so I can't do the sleeve. I am looking forward to a break in the joint pain. I am having surgery by by Dr. John M. Kellum at VCU
