I thought I should put my story here, I am reading and finding interesting, lots of other people's stories.

I have had a weight problem since before kindergarten.  Food was a comfort in an insecure and abusive home.  I usually was only 20 to 40 lbs. overweight, which I carried well enough since I was so tall, 5'9".  It didn't make me popular, but I was pretty healthy. I went up over 200 having two children in 73 and 75, I was as high as 260 with my second child.  I got down to 200 again, but never went under again.  I had pretty much sedentary jobs, and the weight creep ed on, I was up to 323 when I had a huge car accident in 2004, that bruised my heart and sent it into afib.  Basically for 2 years I would crawl out of bed to go to work, then go right back to bed when I got home.  I found out from a cardiologist that my heart was only beating at 65%, which made me weak.  They kept shocking my heart, cardioversion, to get it back into rhythm but it would go right back out again within a few days.  One cardiologist decided to perform a maze procedure which would cauterize the area of my heart that was bruised.  Long story short, my lungs collapsed during surgery and they had to cut open my sternum to get my lungs back up and fix my heart.  That was a rude awakening, I can tell you!  After that I kept going down hill, my heart still wasn't beating right, I was in and out of the hospital for the next 4 years and now I have a pacemaker, which keeps my heart in rhythm but I gained up to 411 lbs.  I became disabled, went on Social Security and found that they would cover the bariactric surgery so I jumped on it.  Took about 1 year to get in, lost 40 lbs before surgery, I am 3 weeks out now and not sure how much I have lost since the surgery.

My first doctor visit is next week the 27th, here's hoping!
