Ok. A little bit afraid or confused. I plan to be having my VSG around the first of September this year. I am very lucky in that I work in a hospital that is partnered with the surgeons office so although my insurance will not pay for the surgery, they have devised a "discount" program for employees where the entire cost of the surgery sill be around 5500.00 total. I will give them half up front prior to surgery and they will take payments of 50.00 per month out of my paycheck until I die.....lol

Unfortunately I would never would have had this opportunity if my husband hadn't passed away very suddenly in April of this year and left me a small life insurance policy. I miss him very much. He was a man that truly adored and loved big girls. I never knew that a man could find a woman of size gorgeous and sexy until I met him. He showed me the true meaning of love and acceptance and never made me feel anything except love and adoration and gave me confidence to be myself no matter what my size. He could have cared less if I had the surgery except it was something I needed to do for my health. I have terrible osteoarthritis in my knees and feet, hips, back, shoulders and daily pain. Luckily I am not diabetic, do not have high bp or any other severe co-morbidities. that is the other good thing about the surgery option through my work. I do not have to make a case of any kind for the surgery and do not have to prove that I have been on every diet on the planet etc.

I do need to lose about 180 pounds. I am currently attempting to figure out what kind of protein drinks etc I can tolerate, as I have a distaste for them as a rule. My greatest fear as stupid as it sounds is hanging skin. I have been very overweight for a very long time, like over 30 years, and I can only imagine the horror that might await me post surgery. I need to excercise as much as possible and I pray fervently that I can ward at least some of this off. In addition I really love my large full breasts and do not want to lose much of them...lol although I wouldn't mind a breast lift....lol.

Anyhow, I look forward to any and all comments and any suggestions. I have read through many of the blogs and I am amazed by you all.

Thanks,

Pam
