Surgery postponed!!

Hi All,
Just wanted to update with the latest!
I finally had my surgery date arrive!!! Then, in a matter of an hour, it was gone! After going through all the preparation of going into surgery, my drs found out that my potassium level was too low for me to safely go under anesthesia. I was in the OR holding area, ready to go in, when I got the news!
Thankfully, though, the surgery has been rescheduled until Nov 14th. My drs normally don't do surgery on Tuesdays, but they made a special exception!! I was so glad.
So today was a complete dress rehearsal for me! It actually was not bad at all!!!! The drugs they give you to relax you work instantly!!!! As soon as they hit my IV, I could feel my whole body just relaxing!!!
So now it's back on the liquid diet for me until Tuesday, then hopefully the surgery will take place for real! I will update more later!

Nov 3rd: Today was my EGD! I really wasn't nervous or scared about it today as I thought I would be. I was really more scared of this procedure than for the actual surgery! But it was a BREEZE!!!!!!! The last thing I remember was Dr. Barnes asking me about the date of my surgery and the next thing, I woke up back in my "room" (holding area) and he telling me that I did great!!!! I am so glad it's over....now for the big surgery! I'll keep you posted.......!

Alot has happened this month: I had my initial consultation, been approved for surgery and had a date set! As my date for surgery gets closer, I seem to get more nervous! I was really OK in the beginning, but now the butterflies have landed!!! My date for surgery is November 8, 2006. I am scheduled for my EGD this morning, November 3. I have been up since 2:30 am, can't seem to sleep at all!! It's now 4:15 am and I'm still wired up!!!! I'll update more after my EGD!!!! Keep me in your prayers!!!!
