OCTOBER/08..1 YEAR LATER

Oct 18, 2008

I'm so sorry for not posting sooner, but I rarely visit here anymore.
It's been 1 year and I'm down 90+ pounds or so. Now I need to change things up....food wise & exercise.
I'm thrilled with the weight loss so far, but I still have a long way to go, I figure about 40-50 lbs....

Well I've passed my 3 month ann. & the weight seems to come off sooooooo slow to me. I look at people that are 1 year out and they are well over 100 ponds. it just seems I'll never ever get there. I seem to loose so slowly....a pound or two then I stay stuck for about 5 or 6 days. I try not to get discouraged and keep plugging along. but in reality I guess I am "average" for weight loss for 3 months out. I'm hoping to look back at this post in another 3 months and say..."what the hell were you worried about"??????

Dec 23, 2007

I'm feeling very strong and sort of back to normal. I do not have the energy I thought I would have though. I have lost another 1/2 lb bringing me to 256 lbs. and a 45 lb weight loss! yippppp-ee
I try and exercise daily, although I must confess, after working all day some days I can barely stand on my feet.
I have no problems what so ever in eating anything...spinach salads, ceasar salads, nuts, raw carrots you name it I can eat it!
Somehow, I thought the weight would fall off faster, but I'll take what ever loss I get at this point. Better than a gain....right?
So as I climb down pound by pound....life is good!

Well, the weight stills seems to be a slow battle....taking about 4-5 days or more (at least ) to drop a pound. but I guess I can't complain...it is dropping. so I try not to get discouraged...and trudge on.
I really don't find my energy level has increased at all....really. I find when I get home from work I sure don't feel like getting on my treadmill or gazel!
but I try to do my best....

Dec 02, 2007

Well, it's the beginning of Dec. & I'm almost at 8 weeks out. It seems to me to have been a very slow climb down the ladder for weight loss! But I feel I've hit the clear passage now....and hopefully weight will drop off every week now! There were times I'd get on that scale & go up a pound or two...how discouraging is that? But this morning after my treadmill & gazel I have dropped about 3 pounds!!!!! yipppppp-pi.

It's been a month since my RNY surgery, and not a lick of problems to date! knock on wood..... I'm down 17.5 lbs, seems slow but I guess when you look at it, it's 1 lb every 2 days! the only problem I have encountered is my protein shakes..I usually have 2 scoops every morning, for some reason I was feeling very nauseated for a few days. Soooooo decided to cut back to one scoop in my shake to see if that would make a difference. And it did, but I sure miss getting in 46-51 grams of protein in one shot!!! I exercise 30-45 minutes daily. for now, I'm just walking and using my gazell. I have not had any cravings for sweets at all. I haven't even made any SF puddings or jello's or anything yet? I bought a couple of exercise dvd's so will start them soon.
Just to mix up my exercise a wee bit. So far so good with this new tool I've been given. This is the real trick, as the weight slides off daily to.....get into a "good eating" pattern that will take me through the rest of my life. The weight melting off is the easy part....it will be maintaining that's the hard part! So hopefully I will learn new tools to take me through this journey with not too many slips.

Well it's been a week since my surgery, and I really feel great! I'm exercising 30-45 minutes a day.I have no problems to speak of. The Forest Health Center is the greatest place ever. They treated you like a real person with dignity & respect. the staff there are all so awesome especially the night staff. I gained 11 lbs in hospital with all the shit they pump into you. But since have lost 7.5 lbs in seven days or...18.5 if you count the 11 I gained in hospital, which I also have lost.....yeeee-ha  I'm on my way. I feel it will only get better day by day.
I've done so much research and thinking on this surgery for years and finally took the plunge. I sure wish I would have done this 10 years ago.....
