Don't be so hard on yourself!! Take it a day at a time and concentrate on one success each day. Don't worry about the rest. This surgery will change your life, even if you try to sabotage it! You need to stop looking at the big picture and focus on one day, then the next, then the next. The beautiful person inside may be slow to emerge, but she's there!

angela- thanks for the comments!! you are right, they are going to fly by, i was going to take the day before off and get things in order, but the hubbie said the waiting around is going to drive me nuts. BUT i do have a gift certificate from a day spa he got me for our anniversary (i am afraid to use it, even though i would really like that 1 hour massage) so maybe that will help calm me before the "big day". what do you think? gale

Angela, just wanted to say thanks for your words of wisdom. We each come to crossroads in our lives that we must take and make the decision of which way we will go. I read your story and I KNOW you will come out a winner! You already are! :-)

Dear Angela, Thank you so much for the beautiful post. I copied them all and will carry them with me until surgery..and probably after. I am thinking of you also. I used to spend a lot of time in Canada..my ex was born in Saskatoon and lived in Calgary. I remember the famous health care discussions and debates at the inlaws!!! Maureen

ANGELA THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT HOWEVER MY SURGERY IS AUGUST 10, 2002 I AM HAVING THE RNY-LAP MIDDLE THERE ISN'T A PRAYER IN HELL THAT I WOULD DO THE OPEN. MY BEST FRIEND OF 49 YEARS HAD THE OPEN RNY-MIDDLE AND GAULDBLADDER OUT AND CUT CUT ISN'T FOR ME. SHE IS DOING WELL LOST 50 LBS SINCE MAY 22, 2002. I HOPE YOU WILL CONTINUE TO WRITE TO ME OR CALL I REALLY WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU ONE ON ONE. I HOPE SOMDAY TO MEET SOME OF THE FRIENDS I HAVE MADE ON LINE. I AM NOW GETTING VERY NERVOUS I WEEK AWAY AND I REALLY WOULD LIKE TO SEE MY GRANDS GROW UP, MY FRIEND SAYS I WILL BE FINE BUT WORRY WART ME CAN'T HELP THE WORRY.
