Robert Wilcox

"My impression of Dr. Wilcox is that he is obviously very comfortable with performing the Gastric Bypass surgery and knows exactly what he is doing. Though I am just currently in the first stage of the Bypass process I feel as though this is a Dr. I can count on. His office staff is very nice and I hope and look forward to getting to know them even better. Dr. Wilcox was very helpful on informing me of the procedure and the possible complications that can arise. He was very careful to tell me of all the things I could do in the mean time that could benefit my surgery from possible complications such as working out, losing some pounds, and no smoking. He did say that he does not perform surgery on people who don't take the responsibility of not smoking for at least 6 weeks before the surgery. I would rate him at about an 8 or 9 but I haven't had the surgery yet so I will wait to give him the highest rating of 10. In closing my opinion of which is better, surgical competence, bedside manner, or both I would have to say surgical competence is the most important. Bedside manner is a plus but bedside manner does not make a great surgeon. A great surgeon is someone who performs his job with great skill and precision."
