Getting the band OUT and having RNY!! I will get my surgery on July 13th!
I had the RNY done Monday at Central Baptist with Dr. Weiss. I got home yesterday afternoon (Thursday). The band just didn't work for me. I lost 16 pounds and started feeling very uncomfortable so I decided to get that band out. As it turned out I had a hernia so he fixed it and did the bypass.
It is Friday the 17th. I am feeling pretty good so far. I already know I should have done bypass and not the band.
JULY 21, 2009- First check up and weigh in. I have lost 17 ounds in just a week!!! TADA.................that is what I am talking about!
Nov. 1, 2009- It has been awhile since I posted anything. I am loving the RYN I am down 47 pounds and I feel terrific. Why didn't I have this surgery sooner??
2005- Started researcing WLS
Oct 2007- Called insurance to see what the requirements were
Jan 2008- Started 6 month diet plan
Aug - Sent all my paperwork to G-town Bariatrics
Aug 12, - Went to WLS siminar in G-town
Aug 22, - First appointment all day long! Will have to wait to see if insurance will cover surgery. Started a women's multi-vitamin and no more hormone patch :( but I want to be ready when I get the call!
Aug 25, - No More Pepsi's, no carbonation and hardly any caffeine. No more blood thinning pain killers. Started taking Viactiv vitamins.
Sept. 4, - Got approval from insurance
Sept. 21 - I am meeting with the surgeon on Tuesday the 23 to get my surgery date set! YES! I will have more test on Tuesday and Weds. I assume I will be preparing for surgery at that point. I hope it is soon. I am ready!
Sept. 23 - I got my surgery date today. It is October 2, 2008!!!
Sept. 24- Last appointment before surgery, my next trip to G-town is surgery!!!
