Well I am not the best on writing my story so I guess here it goes.......I have been overweight most of my adult life.  I really didn't start gaining weight until high school.  When I was young I was know as "flaquita" as my Daddy would call me.  Which means skinny little girl in Spanish.  After graduating high school I met my wonderful husband and at the time he was a weight lifter. So of course I thought I could eat the way he did and not gain weight...WRONG! I gained most my weight within a year after us being together.  He is amazing and accepts me the way I am.  I never let the weight faze me because I am fairly healthy for being as over weight as I am.  I have tried many times to lose weight and actually had gone down 57 pounds in 09' before a hernia repair surgery, needless to say I gained most of it back.  I was always unsure about getting WLS.  I definitely would not do bypass and did not like the thought of the band and a foreign object being in my body.  Always said the only one I would do would be the sleeve but at the time my insurance did not cover it.  Finally they started covering the sleeve.  Started the process for the surgery in February and actually am done with my surgery date being 6/2/2011.  So now it is 18 days away and even though I am so nervous I can not wait to start this new journey in my life and be a healthier happy person for myself, my daughters, and hubby!
