My goal in all of this is to be happy and healthy. I was able to have Lap Band surgery in Feb 2009 as I thought that would be the beginning of the rest of my life.But after surgery and a number of fills . I became sick and had to have all the fluid removed a year and a half later. I must admit I was devastated . My surgeon Dr Duncan said that it was not my fault and I have nothing to be ashamed of somethings just don't work for some patients .. At that point I did not give up. After talking with my surgeon I decided to have RNY . I started this is new journey on Jan 2 2012. My company changed insurance companies so I didn't know what to expect. I could only hope that the surgery would still be covered. I found out that it was covered (Praise God). I also found out that I did not have to go through the six month process that it would only take three months (YEAH!). I hit the ground running. Because I had surgery just a few years ago I went back to the same doctors. I got everything in and my surgery will be June 6 2012 YEAH!. I am mom excited this time around for some reason . Maybe because get a second chance is a gift that I don't take lightly.I have already lost 20 pounds since Jan 2 so Iam very excited.
