Sidney R. 21 years, 8 months ago

This month marks a two period since my 03-27-01 surgery. I lost a total of 120 lbs.,but have regained 10 lbs. I actually feel better with the extra 10, and no longer see black spots if I move about suddenly. I have lots of energy, am still living without all those discontinued medications, have had no recent problems or complications. Although I am no longer losing weight, my body is still getting a little smaller with time. I am wearing a size 10 in jeans and most clothes, but dresses are size 8, as well as pull up style pants. That's a long way from 262lbs. and size 20/22. Since I workout 5 days/wk., I look O.K. with clothing, but still desire to have that tummy tuck someday. The loose skin remains, but the underlying muscle is tighter from exercise. My 48EE's have long ago been replaced by 36 C/D. The best part about all the hard work is the fact that the high blood pressure, high cholestrol, arthritis, sleep apnea, asthma have not returned. Even the fibromyalgia and irritable bowel has improved. I can now eat a "Happy Meal" burger with one bread, most of the small drink, and about 4 fries.(This is only an example of current quantity of possible food comsumption after 2 yrs.)I still seldom eat fast food nor carbonated beverages. IN MY CASE, THE BENEFITS HAVE FAR EXCEEDED ANY DISCOMFORT OR RISKS OF THE SURGERY. Dr. Alan Newhoff has given me a new chance at a full life. As a grandmother, I can say that I have turned back time,10-15 yrs.
