New Year-New Me
Jan 04, 2009
January 4, 2009I joined Obesity Help today, my 34th birthday. I want to improve my health this year, loose weight, and be more active. The first step was emailing my PCP today and telling her that I am interested in beginning the journey towards weight loss surgery. I was scared to take this first step, especially since Kaiser insurance is so darn picky. From what I read online, Kaiser requires a BMI of 50 or more or a BMI of 40-50 with accompanying co-mobilities, which I do not have. Currently my BMI is 42. So, needless to say I am preparing myself for a rejection from my PCP. The thought of loosing 120+ pounds on my own is stupidly overwhelming! I guess my other option is to gain weight for a BMI of 50? No, No way! The other option is wait to begin my new RN job later this year and get a new insurance company.
