Pre-Op

I am calling tomorrow  to schedule my Gastric Bypass for the first week of Feb.07. I finally have enough money to pay for it with cash because my insurance ran me around in circles for years. Im done waiting for them. I do believe that more insurance companies should treat obesity as they do drug addiction or alcoholism, but they dont. Why? Who knows, they cant even tell you why. Frusterated, yes! Do I care anymore, no! Why? because I am getting my surgery anyway on my own. I have fluctuated in my weight from thin to fat for as long as I can remember. I was born at 10 lbs. 9 oz. and weighed 100lbs. when i started kindergarten. As I got older I thinned out alot and when I was in the 8th grade I weighed 175lbs at 5 foot 10 inches tall. Not to bad. Ideal actually for my bone structure, and I have broad shoulders. I got pregnant at 16 years old and gained 45 lbs. quit school and got pregnant again at 18 gaining another 65 lbs. A few years after that I lost it all and was looking good again, almost down to my junior high weight. Got into an abusive relationship, had major back surgery and gained 180 lbs. in 6 years. I know, it's alot of weight. After, yo-yo-ing for a lifetime and using every "diet scheme" under the sun I had given up totally. I was thinking that I would just rather not be here if I had to live like this and then I checked into WLS. I am preparing for my surgery eating less then 10 grams of fat a day to shrink my liver for surgery and get a jump start on weight loss, getting used to take my vitamins daily, and starting to excersise daily UGH lol. Most days I can eat 3 meals a day and snack 2x and be at zero grams of fat which is awesome. Its tuff but I can do this! I am 380 lbs and am hoping to lose half of me by the time I am done. I want to be one of those success stories, no I will be one of those success stories :)
