Way to long....
Dec 02, 2007
I know it's been way to long but life with two year old twins is really busy. Here is my latest news.
Surgery was on 8/6 just as planned and everything went fine. Found a small hernia that they repaired while they were in there, but that is actually very common. Anyways, almost 4 months out and I've lost 63 lbs. I personally can't tell much of a difference, but according to my family they can definately tell. I started in a size 26/28 and can now wear 18/20. I don't walk as much as I should but again, life with twins will do that to ya. Anyways, I go for my 3 mo check up on Monday, then I won't have to go back for another 6 months. I haven't had ANY food intolerances at all, which is a miracle that I am totally excited about. I can eat just about anything (with the exception of bread and sugar) but other then that, I'm golden. I love bean soup from this mexican place down the street, and they have lots of protien so that's a plus too. I have had a little trouble with my hair falling out but I have so much of it you really can't tell. I'm really trying to work on squeezing in more walking so the weight will come off quicker.... will update later.

Jun 27, 2007
So, it's been a long time since i've updated... but here it goes. I finished my 6 month diet and I was approved by my insurance company in a week!!! I was so excited I could hardly contain myself. My date is scheduled for 8/6/07. I have my EGD scheduled for 7/30/07 and that is the same day I am to start my liquid diet. I am so elated!!! I never thought it would have been such a smooth process. My husband is very overweight himself, so the same day I went for my second consult, he went for his first. We will be doing this together and I hope and pray is journey will be as smooth as mine was. My insurance is wonerful and covers at 100% with no co-pays, and no deductables... All is wonderful...
will update more later!!!

STARTING....
Feb 22, 2007
I've started the process of having Gastric Bypass surgery. I had my initial consult with Dr. Wade Barker on 1/28/07. My weight then was 292. My insurance is BCBS, and in order to get approval I have to go through a 6 month, doctor supervised diet. So, the first day began on the 28th.
I am required to do a lot of testing, which includes a sleep study, a visit to the cardiologist, and a phyc and nutrition evaluation. I've completed the sleep study, and as you guessed it, I do have sleep apnea. I have my visit for the phyc and nutrition scheduled for March 1st, and I just saw a cardiologist for issues not surgery related. I'm hoping those records can be sent over so I won't have to do the same tests again.
I went for my first "weigh in" which counts as my second of the six months. I was down 6 lbs in about 3 1/2 weeks!!! Yeah!! I was so excited to hear the news. I prayed for anything but weight gain.
I've been working hard on sticking to my 1800 calorie diet, and have been walking as much as I can. My next weigh in is scheduled for March 9th, and I will be half way through my 6 months. I'll update on my next visit.
