8 Years!
May 13, 2011
I don't know if anyone will ever see this, but I'll write it anyway. Today marks 8 years since my RNY surgery. I wouldn't give it back for anything. Originally I lost 100 pounds. 2 1/2 years ago I suffered a major back injury which severely limited my activity. I gained 40 pounds back. Some I believe was because of age, some because of inactivity. 9 months ago I had major back surgery and I have now lost 25 of those 40 pounds.
I have taken the opportunity to speak with many people over the years about gastric bypass surgery. Many people have been referred to me by mutual friends. I am always open to giving people the benefit of my experience and I also refer them to this website because it was an invaluable tool for me during the presurgical and immediate post surgical time frames. There is a multitude of information on this site. Some things you do have to take with a grain of salt, as some people are not really knowledgeable about anatomy or medical things and they post information that is not always correct.
If you ever have any questions for someone who is multiple years post op, feel free to contact me.
