Only Five Days!!

I'm almost to my surgery date! I'm so excited and ready for the day to be here! I'm looking very forward to the new life around the corner! I think I am going to be so much happier with my HEALTH and ability to do more things! I feel like I should be nervous, but I'm not at all! I'm READY!

Final Decision!

I have now decided to have Gastric Bypass! :) The decision feels great and now I'm just ready to complete all of my pre-approval requirements so the approval request can be forwarded to the insurance! YEAH ME! I'm gonna be SKINNY!

What should I do?!?!?

I had my first consultation with Dr. Melkonian on Friday and now I'm more confused than before I went in! Going into this I have researched both the Band and Bypass... My husband is afraid of the gastric bypass and made me promise I wouldn't even consider that... however, after going into see Dr. M my heart is leading me towards RNY instead... Dr. M is very bias towards bypass. It's what he prefers to do, he has proformed many more RNY's than band surgeries... and he favors the RNY over the band wholeheartedly...

There are many reason I think I'd be happer with RNY:

1. Weight loss - it's almost garenteed I'd lose more weight with RNY than the band...
2. It's permenant! I would never have to have my band removed... which Dr. M said at my age will almost certainly happen if I were go get the band...

So, what do I do? I want to lose the weight forever... I don't want to have even a shadow of a chance that in 10 or 20 years my band would need to be removed...

So many decisions!
