About me

Feb 25, 2010

I am currently about 3/4 of the way to my surgery.  I have filled out all the paperwork, gone to all the appointments, psych evaluation, everything, now it's just a waiting game for "The Call".  I am hoping to hear something in the next 2 weeks.

I chose Pacific Bariatric in San Diego because of their good reputation and because 2 friends of mine have gone there and had nothing but good things to say about it.  After meeting with Dr. Zorn, I have to say I seem to agree with their opinions and I am happy (so far) with my choice.

Having this surgery is important to me for a number of different reasons, but mainly because I feel like this weight has been keeping me from living my life to the fullest.  And, lately, I have been feeling more and more socially awkward.  I've been feeling like this pang of avoidance inside myself, even though my friends are great and supportive and wonderful, I feel like I don't want to be social, and that's just not ME.

I want to be healthy to (eventually) have a child and be active enough to play with my kid(s) later in their lives.  At this point in my life, there is no way I could keep up with a child, and there is no excuse for that at 29 years old.

My goal is to hit my 30th birthday feeling better than I have since I was in grade school.  I want to LOOK good, but, even more importantly, I want to FEEL good, sleep better... hey, maybe even cross my legs(!!!).  I also want to be able to go to Maui (like my parents have generously offered to pay for) for my honeymoon and wear something I haven't worn in public in years... a bathing suit.

I hope to update this blog (at least) monthly with updates on my weight, feelings and surgery status.
